Get one that covers your butt, trust me.
Good’ol Columbia jacket
Uniqlo coats are warm and affordable!
this!
Have you heard of Lora Piano or Moncler? I am admittedly not very into fashion but I found them when walking around the city and bought a few jackets that have worked out pretty well.
Then that makes you inconsiderate and selfish in addition to out of touch lol. I grew up in a well to do family literally getting Moncler, Tiffany, etc as gifts. Not once would I ever “not care” about the price because I know how hard most people work for money and how fortunate I am to come from means. I would never take any of it for granted. You seem extremely insecure

I used to see lots of Canada Goose, but maybe that is old news. My wife buys her winter jackets of Amazon and doesn't freeze so it is kind of about you're going for in terms of warmth, look, adherence to fashion trends / brands. I'm assuming you know, but just so we're 100% clear, this isn't even close to winter yet. This is light jacket weather. Good luck, most people adapt and get used to it.
Aritzia long puffer is excellent. Most of their stuff is fast fashion but they’re Canadian and do not skimp on their puffers. I run cold, always need my home to be 70 temp minimum, and it’s kept me warm every year and I can wear to office. And it won’t break the bank. I also have a ridiculously long Canada goose for walking my dog in blizzards
I second this

The good news is, you have plenty of time to get one and wear it before it warms back up.
Get a nice long wool coat from somewhere like Zara or Aritzia, and a knee length puffer/parka, North Face is great, Aritzia has good ones too.
Unless you do a lot of walking or take public transit a lot you don’t need to splurge on a Canada Goose, Moncler, etc.
I got a black Arcteryx that goes down past my knees at the outlet store in Wicker and it literally feels like I am in my own microclimate when I wear it it’s so warm.
LLBean or Columbia, reasonably priced and warm.
I’m a big fan of Eddie Bauer, perpetually on sale and their parkas are rated to -40F. Can usually get for $300 or less
If I gave you $5,000 right now (without conditions), what is the first thing you would use it for?
I like North Face! You can find them on discount at the outlet stores!
Doesn’t matter what jacket you buy, wear layers. Lots of them.
I’ve had my long north face coat for 15 years plus. Its amazing. Buy a very good coat as an investment. You’ll be happier
Pro
Long coat that goes down to your knees. You’ll regret anything shorter. Also, warmth over fashion. Fashion is irrelevant when it’s 30mph blizzard conditions in below freezing temps and the city doesn’t shut down because we’re the “City that Works”.
I recommend you buy two winter jackets. One is a puffy jacket (down filled or other insulated fiber filled) which people wear when being casual. The other is a dress winter coat. It will be handy when you are going somewhere and you need to dress up. During winter wearing layers will help keep you warm.
