What are the best ways to look for jobs?
Bain & Company Bain & Company Do you have any insights into what they are expecting in the second (last) round? I saw that there are two cases and a presentation. Are they more interested in professionalism than the "analytical" skills assessed in the first round? Do you have any more insights into the presentation?
Many thanks in advance

You should have a mutual agreement beforehand while applying & accepting anything less than 90 days NP.
If there was none & you went ahead & committed another company an early joining, which by every means is unjustifiable- you can speak to your manager & make him understand your situation or you can explain the HR in new compnay to extend your joining till NP letting them know that your KT session has been extendend. They may ask for a written mail or letter though.
Unless you're sure to a certain extent that you'll get early release/ buyback opportunity from your current company based on say previous insatances or say confirmation from Mangement, commitment of anything less than NP would become a problem.
What you can say to the newer HR is that Officially it is 90 Days, I would be able to do some discussions to lessen it.
Discuss with your manager patiently and mutually and ask him that, I will provide and all work related things early.
You can extend 10 to 15 days your joining date. But do this before 8 to 10 days prior joining date.
Mostly company will extend the joining date.
Ask for recovery np, if you abscond sometime it will create problem in future for verification and documents.
Abscond bro... Go and just keep the laptop on there desk and put a message on teams and run if manager is not agreeing for the early release or ask for buy out.
Can’t abscond bro , buy out hr is ready but i need to ready my manager for that but he is not ready
Been there! Faced the exact same situation in my first job.
Honestly, having a clear agreement beforehand helps, but it’s really not a dealbreaker. My advice is to have a candid, polite chat with your manager and explain how a 90-day notice period was choking your opportunities in the job market.
They might pull the "you agreed to this when joining" card, but let’s be real.. nobody pays attention to that clause on Day 1. Just give them confidence that you will complete all your work and KT ahead of time (it’s totally doable, trust me), and you’ll likely find a middle ground.
In my case, after a good discussion, my manager agreed to release me in 2 months and 1 week. I then told HR at my new company that project handover was taking slightly longer than expected (since I had initially communicated 2 months), and they completely understood and issued an updated offer letter. Just stay professional and communicate clearly.. it usually works out fine!
