How do y’all handle attorneys fees award in your retention agreements? Right now I have it as basically a bonus in addition to the contingency, but I have a potential client asking that it be deducted from the gross amount for purposes of calculating the contingency.

My thing is, the fight for attorneys fees is a huge fight in and of itself (not to mention rarely awarded). What incentive do I have to fight for a fee award if I’m not really benefiting from it??

Dear colleagues, I am at client's location from last 2 years and it's their requirement to work on Saturday as well. Is there any compensation or allowance to work for extra days? Also, in case I want to take leave on Saturday, what should I do? I am not clear about this. Please guide.

Relatively new partner here. Recently, I took my eye off the ball of a small closing (assuming, incorrectly, that the senior associate was on top of things), and the client became openly frustrated with us. It all ended up fine, but I never directly apologized. (I am also a woman and hyper aware of the female tendency to over-apologize.) I had an interview last week for a resource manager role at PWC, I have now been invited for an interview with another manager and partner. Ive googled the process and found conflicting advice on how I should prepare. Some forums advise that you should prepare with competency examples and some state its more like a conversation at this point and the partner wants to meet you and assess soft skills.
