Microsoft is hiring an account executive and I’m really interested in the role. I have B2B sales experience in a different industry, but my skills include lead generation, prospecting, account management, negotiating, etc (all within the C Suite and other decision makers).
Would appreciate knowing if this is something I have a shot at with no tech sales experience and what I could expect for promotional opportunities and compensation.
Thanks for the help!

It’s not hard. Show that you are organized, willing to hustle, and are competitive. Study up on sales stack technologies like outreach or Salesloft. And make sure you understand CRM’s real well. Companies take chances on inexperienced SDR’s all the time. But the the above skill sets will show you know what you are getting into. And understand that you’ll be in the role for at least a year before a promotion to AE. Lots of companies do it faster, but the good ones allow the SDR’s to grow for a year at their job.
