I am working with the social impact consulting team with one of the big 4s. I have a background in economics and data analytics with ~3 yrs of experience. In the consulting domain I have worked with clients across industries. Also worked with clients across NGOs and CSR foundations. I am looking to build towards a career in the ESG domain, as that is something I see my team also slowly transitioning towards. I am also yet to get a master's degree, so I want to spend the next ~2 yrs

Is it possible to switch from niche financial modeling/data analysis to branding or digital strategy? Realizing I would love a more creative role but feel pigeonholed as a finance major in undergrad..

Currently a staff in audit - 6 months in. Glad to be learning a lot, and have had a generally positive experience at the firm other than a few interactions, some tough busy season nights. Really been intrigued by TAS/M&A, however, and had a few convos with a senior in TAS i know at the firm. It’s closer to what I studied, but don’t know how to make the jump as it seems an internal transfer could take 6+months/senior rank and a lot of convincing. Is it better to jump firms/has anyone done this?

H1B question: My first 3 years of H1B visa will expire in September next year. When do companies file for extension (like how many months before do they start the process) OR When should I reach out to the HR and ask the same question to them?

I've been job searching for a couple of weeks and would love to be considered for roles outside paid advertising but it seems to be extra challenging this time of the year.

Current consultant (boutique) with offers at a large ride sharing company (starts with a U) for Strategy/BizOps and a public company in their data consulting division. Obviously different areas, but the U role is seriously lacking in comp. Anyone else take/consider much lower total comp (~30% lower) to go to strategy/biz ops?
