When I had young kids, my husband went into work late so I could go in earlier, and I had a hard stop at 5:30 or six to get home by seven
Leave early or come in late
I started early when my partner was on drop off. Then did pickup around 4/4:30. Then we’d switch every few weeks and I’d dropoff early so that I could get to work around 9 and would stay as late a 5:30 pm. I ensured my work was done before leaving for the day when I left before 5 and anytime I could stay later (and still make it home for dinner with the fam) I did.
Manager never had anything to say about it.
My partner and I split pickup/drop off duties.
I do morning drop off literally when the doors of daycare open at 7a, which gets me to my office by ~830a. He leaves work “early” (430p) to make a 530p daycare pickup. I still usually leave my office around 4p, but I work during my commute home.
And my question is… why are we still forcing parents to do this 😢 partial WFH should be a standard option
