I applied for an MS in Data Science and Communication at the University of Liverpool. Yesterday, I got accepted. The start date is 18th Sept, and the fee is £22,000.

Do you think it is worth going to the UK for MS in the current market? What is the possibility of getting a visa sponsored role in communications after MS?

And if yes, is it possible to get a student visa in 1 month?

PS: I come from a middle-class fam.

Working on some law firm applications tonight and it sucks that I know that I am so capable and have a strong work ethic but firms can’t see beyond grades or the fact that I didn’t go to a t14 law school or prestigious undergrad. I’ve worked twice as hard and feel like I’ve barely even gotten half as much. It’s discouraging sometimes especially because I worked so hard with pretty much no guidance (first gen, poc, low-income) to get into college and do well and then get into a t30 law school

A friend is considering deferring an offer (stem PhD) for 1 year straight out of undergrad to work in NY, either in a research institution or a biotech. She does not have any real work experience outside of her lab (3 years) and an adjacent internship. Another factor is she is just generally feeling burnt out on school after the last few years.
