Hi Guys, I need genuine suggestions here, currently I'm living in Gurgaon with my wife. My CCTC - 32 LPA and my wife CCTC - 14 LPA. My wife has two offers ~ 30 lpa from Thoughtworks (Gurgaon) & UBS (Pune) locations.

Hi fishers! I have offer and signed contract with Deloitte UK and my start day is in the beginning of April. I need skilled worker visa, and we haven’t applied yet for that. Screening and onboarding is in progress. Immigration team doesn’t reply since reached me out 1st time. How much time does it usually needed to go through the whole process? How many days take for visa to be approved since application?Deloitte

Pune is beautiful baba. Relocate nd enjoy. Yha ggn me garmi, sardi extreme, infra k karan jara si barish bhi extreme
U have to relocate and enjoy your work and lifestyle
Rising Star
Move out of Gurgaon, more opportunities in Pune and then Hyderabad. You will not regret !
Trust me moved out in 2019 with 13 Lakhs combined now we both earn 77 lakhs combined.
13 to 77. Wow! this is intriguing. Please can you share your journey, YOE, domain etc.
First of all, Congratulations!!
The primary language in Pune is Marathi not Hindi. Generally people are very helpful although sometimes you would feel outcast for not speaking Marathi. Low CPI, low number of opportunities, chill lifestyle, moderate climate, less pollution n traffic. Decent residency near malls and clubs, whichever you choose. Heavy traffic near IT parks. 9 to 10 am and 7.30 to 8.30 pm are peak traffic. Infra wise, parking is a huge issue, especially on weekends...almost similar to Bengaluru. Otherwise, broad n well maintained roads feel like a cruise drive. Lastly beware of scammers at puncture repair shops.
I have recently shifted from gurgaon to Pune, so think I can answer it appropriately. Gurgaon has become overly expensive with crumbling civic infrastructure. Weather is too extreme. No University in Gurgaon, the millennium city. Gurgaon is not the same what it looks from NH8. Go to any sector market, to see the ground reality.Pune is a balanced city with an intrinsic character. It is very safe compared to Gurgaon. I can see women and girls driving scooty even at 10 in night, which you can't imagine in gurgaon. Traffic woes are there, but if u don't travel in peak hours, it is manageable.
There will be more opportunities in the NCR region than in Pune. So unless you want to keep relocating every year for a job switch, I would suggest to continue where you are.
If you want to settle in Pune, as its climate is pretty good, then it's a different story.
Confusion only bcz of the UBS (Bank/product) vs thoughtworks (service)
Rising Star
Stay in Gurugram. No point shifting just because of the offers unless you and your spouse want to shift.
Rising Star
Both are good only macha. One is product based, another one is a bank. No wrong answer there
You also are working in gurgaon… why shift cities when you can stay in the same city? Unless you don’t want to stay in gurgaon…
I'm working remotely (permanently).. .
Receiving mixed reviews about thoughtworks, not enough projects in the Android tech stack, and people sitting on bench, culture deteriorating and major reorg happening.. that leads to confusion
My wife is from Gurgaon and me from Pune. If don't have any personal attachment to Gurgaon, don't think twice to come to Pune- weather is 10times better, standard of living is peaceful in Pune and costly in Gurgaon. Traffic is crowdy in IT park or old Pune else it's all good. Crowd is way more warm and inviting in Pune. Infrastructure is almost same if not better.

Big thumbs up for HYD ,,, finally after so many comments ,,, hyd have decent people who respect and talk genuinely ! Consider everything , it matters in day to day routine
Congratulations Man!
Please do consider your hometown location and it's connectivity as well. Because Pune is no doubt best place to live but sometimes you might not get best connectivity to your hometown a.
So please check that as well. And due to some family obligations I have changed my location from Pune to Gurgaon because for me Family takes priority and I have to frequently visit my family for personal and medical urgencies.
Stayed in GGN, Pune, Bangalore and Hyderabad in my 10 yrs of career, switched for opportunities and money.
Thought works has their office in Hyderabad. If I were you, I'd move to Hyderabad by asking for a transfer. Life's better here. I don't know Telugu, but I can speak in Hindi. I get good food (Come on its HYDERABAD)
Infra is great. Weather is okaish, Home prices are relatively less. Great facilities.
I can't ask for more
Ok thanks for your inputs.
For those claiming that Pune weather is better, let me point out that on December 24th, 2023, Pune experienced temperatures as high as 32°C. While Gurgaon does endure six months of heat, it also enjoys six months of pleasant winter, which many consider the best time of year (unless you're not a fan of winter). In contrast, Pune has nearly 11 months of summer. The only city with consistently good weather is Bangalore, except for the three hotter months from March to May. PS: I have stayed Gurgaon, Pune, Bangalore, Mumbai, Chennai (Min 2.5 years in each city)
but 32 is not a bad temperaturebut actually good temeperature...in NCR its extreme weather for at least 9 months...and the good weather time like Nov, dec ,february is marred with heavy pollution...
UBS is a good for work life balance and compensation . Currently work from home allowed maximum 2 days per week. It may go 5 day working in future. Pune’s weather is good but infrastructure is horrible. UBS location in Kharadi where average 2 bhk flat in society costs 40k per month. They will provide cab services so you can take your home little far if budget is constraint. Connectivity of flight is good to top tier cities and lesser train connectivity if your home is in north or eastern india.
Not sure about mobile application development but in general learning of your core technology will be less than the IT services and product company . Because banks are slow to changes and tasks are well seggreegated within a big team. So you will get less exposure to variety of work. That is also one of the reason for better work life balance .
Wow great, your yoe ? Your wife yoe? You have kids? Your parents stay in Gurgaon only? Yoe is years of experience..also how jump from 14L to 30L??
YoE ~ 8 yrs - both.
Native place Punjab, No kids yet..
Need likes to post
Pune has better climate, much safer for women than Ggn , Delhi. Moreover, in monsoon it's heaven. Plenty of venues to chill at weekends be it singhad fort or any other Maratha forts.
Marathi is similar to Hindi, but not required as per requisite.
I am a north Indian, and would prefer Pune over any other metropole
Thank you!
Ubs is a great place over any other product company. Can expect a great work life balance
Congratulations !!!
Worked in both cities , I can say when it comes to living standards , both cities are very different. You would feel more comfortable and it would be more convienent in Gurugram . The place has a different vibe which you would not get anywhere else. Plus you would save a lot more here as you guys are already settled , which means more options for investing as well.
On the other hand, Pune offers more peaceful life. The weather there is far better than Gurugram . If you are already frustrated with Gurugram and its negatives , you could move to Pune . Language might be a barrier sometimes but overall you would not face any issue . People are accommodating and nice , the food is also good and a lot more places to explore nearby . Overall it would be a great experience , and if you know someone there it would be really great , as initially you would feel isolated and alone .
You have your pros and cons of both the cities from all the comments here . Now coming to company , both of them are really good . So it’s hard to say which one is better .
All the best !!!
Thank you!
This is the most elaborate response.
I would personally go to Pune as in NCR there is too much pollution here and in long term it is bad for everyone..specially for small kids...
We have offers only from Pune or Gurgaon at the moment.
Pro
Try if you get but sequence is as below
Gurgaon > Pune , hyd adds up then it holds place before Gurgaon
Why you want to stay away from your wife?
Stay at same place!! Gurgaon offer is better also
bro refer me for Pune. I am madly tryinh for Pune /Hyderabad for last 7 years in Noida..but not getting any offers..
