Hi guys! I was laid off in May 2024.

I took some time off to take a break, be with my family, and get some certifications in PM.

I’m actively applying now and also started to get interview calls. However, I am not sure what to say when they ask me what’s your notice period because I dont wnt HRs to see this as a career gap or take advantage of my lay off to give out a low-balled offer, so I say 30d. My CV still says working till present.

The severance package at Meta for laid off employees almost makes it nice to be laid off depending on what your personal situation is….. personally wouldn’t mind getting 4+ months of full pay to reset and think about what’s next 😬

Am I the only person who has been super disgusted to Fishbowl’s response to the Meta layoffs? I’ve been laid off twice in my career but I’m not mad at 11000 people who no longer have jobs just cause they got decent severance while I got a week on my way out. Facebook is hot garbage but I’m pretty sure 0 out of the 11000 were making those decisions. So why are you upset about it? Urgh. Y’all are weird.

Have you thought about why PM interview experience is totally different than the actual PM job ? Beware a company called apnaklub currently hiring across functions. They are knockoff udaan with zero ideas who somehow managed to get some funding. They will do interviews for 1 month+ and then ghost you totally wasting your time.
