The worst part about evening workouts I have to say is, if you go to a public gym, the crowdedness makes it hard to have a quick workout sometimes.
I just find that the quality of my workouts suffer in the morning versus me being able to push myself at night. It sucks cause morning workouts are so much more convenient
Interesting, I actually find the opposite. Biggest drawbacks of working out early is you really start to lag by end of day, as well as you really have to compress morning routine to be at work on time.
Morning sucks because fasted state and not awake yet
Evening sucks because I’m drained by then, and it’s hard to time dinner (before dinner and I’m too hungry, after and I’m waaaaay tired)
I usually do before dinner though, and I’ll snack a bit before
Evening- all day every day. Body doesn’t feel ready until the afternoon. Also, I’m very fortunate to have a setup in my garage, as well as minimal travel at this point.
Yea when I get a house I would be very interested in the garage set-up, maybe the rogue collapsible rack setup. What do you have?
I believe in morning workouts. When evening rolls around, there are a million demands on my time and excuses not to go: busy, tired, hungry, etc. Morning workouts energize me. To get over the afternoon slump, I always have a cup of coffee after lunch.
Yup, that’s what I’ve found too. Takes awhile to get in the habit but feel so much better when you do
Morning for sure!
-Up at 4:40, into the YMCA next door by 5
-Hour of lifting
-15 min of cardio
Evening, I'll usually do a 15 min mobility routine as well to get out the kinks from sitting all day. Preworkout is the lifesaver for the morning workouts, and bed by 9-10 every night
I agree, the morning routine saves time but that means I have to get very early and then stay up late for calls with my offshore teams. So, I find the evening ones more balanced. I also feel that I stay more alert through the day if I workout in the morning. If you workout in the evening, you sleep through the hormonal benefits of working out. But we are Cs and can’t do everything.
Morning energy is definitely much better, but that mid-afternoon crash can be brutal...
I split mine. Cardio in the morning, lift at night
ZS - got a rogue monster full rack with the weight storage. Ended up splurging last year. Was worth the money. Highly recommend.
Yup, as soon as I get an actual garage to put it in...
