Hi guys was looking for advice. Been really wanting to get into retail part time as a teenager been finding it very difficult to get a job. Idk if it’s because my CV is very sports/PT related but any advice is welcome. Was working part time as a labourer and was just looking for a change of field

Best thing you can do is apply in person then. If you show up asking if they're hiring its alot more memorable than an online application. Also with all the college kids coming home for summer jobs a harder to get right now. Hope this helps.

Cheers definitely will do. thanks for the help

Apply then show up In person asking if they are hiring like previous person commented this will go a long way.

ADVICE NEEDED: Any GSAPers secure funding from the firm when you’re also going up for promo? I’m afraid that leadership won’t want to promote me to M (right around the corner for me) if they know I’m on the way out to school. Thoughts? Am I overthinking this?

I’m seriously contemplating taking a software development boot camp. For those who hire new software developers, does it make you stand out if you get your certificate from a university instead of a coding academy (like coding dojo or something)? I noticed the universities are a bit more expensive but is it worth the price to have a university on your resume or does it not really matter?

I love the private world but am really ready to move up. I don’t know what I should do. Any suggestions?

Here’s my first question for this group. What’s a good and inexpensive PDF editing tool? Highlighting, annotating, and bookmarking while working from home is a problem for some of us who still like to use paper. My firm won’t purchase “full Adobe” for anyone other than legal assistants and paralegals.

For all you retail people...are you experiencing a very slow holiday season? I am a retail manager and I feel like this season has been freakishly slow. I thought we would at least match last year's number or be up a little bit but we are trending down. I talked to employees of other stores in the mall and they are saying the same thing. Is anyone else experiencing this in their market?

Thinking of switching employers. Do you think bigger retail stores (the ones that have several locations) are easier or harder to work at than little hole-in-the-wall grocery stores (which is all I've ever done)? It seems like the larger chain stores would have more downtime, but I'm wondering if anyone could give some input.

Hi, I'm an employee at a hotel chain who works remotely. I've been working remotely for over a year now and I love it! The company I work for is very supportive of remote workers, which is great.

But there's one thing that's been bothering me: it's hard to get feedback on my work when I'm not in the office. It would be great if there was some kind of system that let me know how my performance was being evaluated while I'm working on projects from home.
