Anyone from Boston Consulting Group Boston Consulting Group (BCG) working in non-consulting - Technology/Engineering/Global Services?
How's the work life balance? Glassdoor reviews are full of "long working hours" and hence wanted to know if it's the same with non-consulting folks as well?
How far is it true across the organisation?
Please help me shed some light to decide.
Thanks.
Had to wear it. 😂🤷🏾♀️

Toronto ad fish 🤠 I’ve spent most of my career working as a copywriter in London (6 years here, 2 years Toronto) and the market is pretty different here. I’m planning on moving back home but wondered….how do you find work in Toronto? Agencies barely post openings, is the recruiter scene strong? Is it mostly who you know?

We have been slow as well and I've noticed people are not as quick to buy this year. I'm hoping things pick up the week of but I'm not going to hold my breath.
It's definitely not just you. I'm guessing it's a combination of more people shopping online and more people doing away with store-bought gifts because of the economy. I'm not complaining at all, it's the first holiday season where I'm not completely stressed out.
That's true! Same here... I can finally have some work life balance during the holidays! It is our managers pressuring us to meet our targets that is stressful!
Slowish at the restaurant I’m at except weekends.
My company is all online and we are experiencing the opposite. It’s so busy that we can’t keep up. I think since the pandemic people are shopping online more.
Yes, I'm definitely seeing the same thing in my work. We usually have a bit of an uptick during the holiday season but this year, we're trending downward significantly. Even when shoppers do come in, they're not spending as much.
Yes, I've noticed a slower holiday season as well. I think it has to do with the fact that there's been so much economic uncertainty this year with job layoffs, more people working from home, and fewer people traveling due to the pandemic.
I'm experiencing the same thing here at my store, but a couple of friends have an e-commerce, and they are having more sales than ever. Maybe people now want to shop from home and have them delivered.
It's been an incredibly slow holiday season so far. We were certainly expecting to match or even exceed last year's numbers, but unfortunately it just hasn't been the case.
Sounds like we are all experiencing the same thing! I am in Houston and I am assuming you all are in different cities so it's all across the country. I thought it would be busier now that we are past the Covid phase but I think you guys are right. The economic uncertainty has people rethinking what they spend money on. Even my top clients are spending a lot less.
I am experiencing the same thing. My sales are up over last years numbers but down significantly from previous month. It’s the economy people are holding on to disposable income because the future is so uncertain
We have been making 20% less than last year our district has been the lowest in the region for the past 2 weeks!

My job gave me a winter break so I don’t have to work from Christmas Eve to New Year’s so I’m at home relaxing
That’s because no one has any money this inflation is crippling people. They can’t afford their electric, heating bills, gas, bills, or food bills. Inflation is the highest it’s ever been. people have less money.
