I work through a contractor, and was hired 2yrs ago to be a Systems Test Engineer II. They decided last minute to make me a Software Content Manager, but kept my title as is since it was supposed to be a 6mo rotation. I’m still an SCM, and am taking on leadership roles in the group. How do I ask for a title change and pay increase to reflect what I actually do? Do I ask my contract house, or my NASA mgmt? Should I ask to make the pay retroactive since I was hired to do one thing, but do another?

I have an interview for an in house position (only attorney) at a small non-profit focused on conservation easements. I am a transactional associate at a mid sized law firm. The prospect of freedom from the billable hour and contributing to meaningful work are the draws. I had a call with a recruiter at BCG towards the end of last week. I went to check the job description for the role on the careers website and it’s not there anymore. Instead it says, “we’re sorry…the job you are trying to apply for has been filled.” Why would the recruiter reach out to me about applying for this role if they were going to fill it so soon? The role is still listed on LinkedIn but when I click apply it takes me to the BCG careers page with the note saying the role has been filled
