Any transfer needs to have a good case behind it and it is quite the faux pas to ask for a transfer just after you started at an office. If your recruit for Dublin expect to stay there for at least a year. London is as you state more competitive to get in to due to sheer traction. It is not impossible to transfer to London contrary to what’s alluded to here, colleague of mine (non UK/IE) just transferred basically for family reasons
Just take Dublin for the moment! you’ll most likely spend good amount of time in London, grow your network there and ask to be relocated in a year or so
I assume the reason you were invited to interview with Dublin is because you listed it as one of your location options. So very reasonable to invite you to interview there…
You won’t be able to transfer your interview and if you get an offer, the earliest you can apply to transfer is after one year, with good performance. If you’re transferring because you’re worried about the work in Dublin, it’s a shared staffing pool, so you’ll have the same opportunities regardless.
Close to impossible to move to London in this environment.
I see 🥲 Are many of you "on the beach"? when do you think it will improve?
The bar is exactly the same for Dublin and London- disappointed to see this opinion posted to be honest.
While it may differ for other locations, the bar is the same for London and Dublin - it’s part of one office complex (UKIIO).
