How do you spread your vacation days out over the course of the year?

My company blames my generation for not being able to hire everyday. “You guys don’t want to work” coming from some overweight, racist, old coaster. I’ve barely taken any days off this year and pick up “skeleton crew” days any chance I get. I was able to work out a deal with my company before I came because of prior experience luckily, but they offer a terrible base salary and sham of a commission structure to new hires + no remote. Then sit here and can’t figure out why…

I’m 90% certain my owners are selling our privately held financial services company. This is a family owned company and they have always been very generous and cared for their employees. I’m not sure whether I should start pursuing other opportunities and cash out my PTO or stay until the end and hope they want to still care for their employees once the acquisition is complete. Has anyone been in a similar situation and have any advice to offer?

I curry have a base salary of a little above 120k. I am maxing my 401k and invest in the Shar purchase plan I am offered. Would a brokerage account make more sense or a IRA OR a Roth IRA?

What would you do?

(Or really this is just me typing out loud. )

Currently 6 years at job A at 100K and 10K annual bonus but lil to no upward mobility. It's safe if not going anywhere.

Recruiter reached out regarding Job B at 130K with greater advancement potential but it starts out at 6 Months Contract to Hire per the agency contract. No bonus, benefits adequate by comparison. There is no guarantee to go full time.

Interview just for practice?

Does UBS pay relocation bonus?

Graduating from part-time MBA in May, have been working as a product manager in tech for 2 years and prior to that 5 years in BI/data analytics. I’m at a new company now and I’m disliking PM more every day. I’m thinking about doing JIT recruiting for investment banking to get strategic finance jobs in tech in 1-2 years but we’re having a baby in August. Is it stupid to try to pull off a pivot like that? I value WLB and want to be able to take paternity leave when our daughter is born

Please assist with the in-hand salary and with other benefits. Thanks!!

I’m trying to land a job in healthcare administration. I have my master’s degree, but I have only 2 years of professional experience. The jobs I have seen ask for 5+ years of experience, is experience weighted more than my masters? Is it about paying dues before landing a job? Or am I looking at the wrong places?

I might get an offer in DHL, how are the company benefits, leave policies and pros & cons of the company ? Can someone elaborate on it ?

Looking for some advice/suggestions here. 24 years old, TC is now 110k. I have 40k cash savings. $6,500 in my 401k and $6,400 in Roth IRA. Just was promoted and wondering if that’s too much cash to hold onto AND if contributing to a Roth makes sense. I contribute 7% with 100% match and 10% profit sharing at the end of the year to the 401k. Contributing $550 a month to the Roth. Would appreciate any ideas as I know it’s a good spot but just wanted to see if it’s the smartest approach.

Made EP. But I want to be an executive, SVP or managing director. My current FT role offers tuition reimbursement. Wondering if I should make them pay for an MBA. How many agency heads have one?

5 month ago I joined Ceridian IT as remote. Due to nature of work, I have very little to no involvement with other parts of my team. I like what I do, pay is ok, manager is not so involved. That’s pretty much my life rn. With all the news about recession and what not, what do you think about Ceridian’s future?
I found a few including Dropbox, Uber, Shopify hiring for the similar role that I’m in. Should I consider those or where would you place Ceridian among these companies?

I'll start - How much do benefits factor into your job search and deciding on an offer? For me, the vacation is critical, and it reflects the extent of the agency's culture of trust.
