Agree... benefits are important. Vacation/PTO is critical for life prioritization, but many agencies offer a larger number of days than corporate counterparts bc they know no one will take it all. I also find the ability to be a responsible adult and wfh as needed is critical for trust, living life and supporting client demands as well.
Know there are many differences and historically available discussion on maternity benefits in other bowls, but am interested in if anyone has seen fertility benefits offered at any agencies as well, given that many women/couples are choosing to have children later than in the past?
I think benefits are equally important to salary, and sometimes more so. I almost walked away from my current job over insurance. One of my providers is out of network and the deductible and oop maximum is super high. It’s eating into my salary significantly I regret not pushing harder for salary, and am even considering changing jobs due to the insurance benefit. I’ve gone through all my FSA money for the year, and I need more tests done, and have a joint replacement I need checked out, but I spent all my money on my out of network benefit and am starting over on my in network deductible. It is cheaper for me to change jobs
A LOT. Going from a French holding company to a Japanese holding company is night and day when it comes to benefits. When you’re really sick and aren’t anywhere near paying the extraordinarily high deductible and get crushed in debt because the plan doesn’t want to pay for anything, you realize you should have done your homework on benefits.
