2. Save 6 month emergency fund in HYSA
3. Contribute maximum to Roth IRA
4. Contribute max to HSA if you have a HDHP
5. Contribute maximum to 401k
6. Donate to charity
7. Treat yourself
8. Save cash for a big ticket item like car, vacation, down payment
9. Invest in taxable brokerage account like Fidelity or Vanguard (whoever you have your IRA with)
Great point! I think bc I’m an older SA (mid-30s), it contributes to feelings of being behind. But yes, you’re right, I will catch up quickly if I keep being fiscally responsible!
Do you make too.much for a Roth? If you don't that is 100% where you want to invest it. A vanguard target date fund or three fund portfolio is fine for what to put in that Roth.

Buy index funds. If your investment recordkeeper allows it, automate it to debit your bank account.
VOO, VTI are pretty popular S&P indexes
Mutual funds are a great place to start. Could be index/passive or active funds. Just look into the fees and the performance of the funds and asset manager.
