Hello, I'm looking at a position within Paypal. My question, what is the work life balance, expectation for office (hybrid/remote/other) and is the pay comparable to other companies? Reviewing Director and Senior Director roles on the business side. I have over 15 years experience with multiple degrees. TIA!

Sorry to say, by your logic you mean game devs and QA testers are similar just because they deal with games?
How do you even consider that a bootcamp certification stands against someone whose college degree was in interaction design. It's simply not. He'll be lucky enough to get into an entry level field and work his way up from there or stick to his profession where he'll be much more valued.
And? Even if my analogy isn't 100% accurate, my point still stands lol. The key word here is "relevant" experience. I've got 3 yoe in branding, didn't matter at all when I joined as an experience designer.
Thanks for proving my point.
(Also visual design itself is a small part of the entire UXD process, just because someone is good at visual design doesn't mean they'll excel in UX)
In your case, 11yoe in Architecture but relevant experience is 0yrs. Current market is ruthless and every company wants atleast 1yoe with good knowledge and skills. There are a lot of recent graduates who are willing to do the same for less.
I would suggest him to switch career only if money isn’t a problem. This will take time to take a huge leap.
Rather he can also try in companies like JLL, Cushman wakefield, CBRE, Knight Frank, etc where there are roles like Sr. Occupancy Planner, Project Managers. - Good pay and corporate life.
All the best
He can start with 3.6LPA in Infosys as UX designer
There is some point in what people are saying, i have done B.arch and then done M.des so i can give you perspective. Architecture course of bachelors is for 5 years, out of which they teach basics of design like form, space, order, hierarchy, position, colour theory, visual balance for almost 3-4 years depending on university. so all of it is not really wasted, architects can pick up visual design very quickly and excel at it. Also before the colleges came up with interaction design degrees, who do you think were designing products and interfaces ? But one point is true,Most companies consider only relevant field experience and hence you husband might be considered a fresher with 0 experience. which is not great. Also from personal POV he might be joining with some person who has not even done graduation and just done online courses from random insta channel claiming to give certificates for ux. Better would be that he continues architecture practice ( 11 years is good exp in that field )
