How do you deal with a manager / junior partner who is always nitpicking and questioning why you did what you did, or telling you what you did is the wrong way to do things? It’s generally prefaced with them only doing this to help you grow, but has the exact opposite effect on me. And then when you try to explain your POV, you’re tagged as being defensive. Generally ends me with saying I’m sorry. No other partners at the firm have ever raised any concerns on my communications or work product.

I got an offer to join bank of america as a band 4 (product director) and because i have high in demand skills, i was asked how much i wanted. They are basically poaching me as i have already been leading a really high profile project for a year. I asked for the range, and got told that due to the market being tight, they had more flexibility than usual. What number can i give without leaving money on the table?

So I had an interview in early September and a second interview almost 2 weeks ago. I received an email with an update last week, essentially saying that the interview went well and they would follow up with me. It’s been about a week. Should I follow up? Hi! I am super new to this app and I see a consistent ask about latina(x) mentors. Has anyone been able to find one and how? I am still looking and frankly could you use all the support. I am the only latina in my office and culturally sometimes I hit these invisible walls that make me feel so incredibly self conscious. I’m a third year associate wanting to leave my second law firm. My first two years of practice I was at a small firm and left to a mid-size firm to practice insurance defense. I have enjoyed the practice but not the firm. The firm’s culture is toxic. The firm has had 7 attorneys leave in the last year. Is it wrong for me to wanting to leave? Will i give the impression of being a job hopper? Does it really matter?

Hello! It seems this bowl is not very active but I'd like it to be. So here's my story: Born & raised in PR, moved to CA for undergrad & have been here since then. I graduated from law school in 2019, followed by a 2 yr bk clerkship. I did the evening program. I really enjoyed law school, in spite of the microaggressions, the late nights, & crazy competition. Love all things diversity in the law. Anyway, currently looking for a position in NYC/DC area. 🤗
