How are the layoffs looking like your ME firms. I heard RB, OW, ADL, MCK and BCG were letting people go in KSA and UAE

Hey All! I was recently laid off in November as part of a company mass layoff. I'm really taking this opportunity to shoot for a Director level position in Marketing. (I've been a marketing professional for over 10 years). I've had one or two direct reports and I really enjoying coaching and mentorship and I've been told I am very creative and strategic able to move projects from conception to creation to execution. Any tips on how to break into this type of role?

I think everyone will agree with this that in last 1-2 years we have seen a tremendous change in Indian IT industry and tremendous growth in Salaries and negotiations. Can someone explain me the factors that are triggering it even when the world markets are in huge correction phase and we are also seeing layoffs and revoked offers.

When the layoffs hit the BBbanks, where are the first cuts amongst IB, sell side research, buy side research, trading, sales, operations? Maybe rank starting with first out.

Need advice - I've been talking to a Partner contact at a big-4 firm where I REALLY want to work. She sent my info to the managing partner in my city, but I haven't heard anything for about 3 weeks. Been playing it cool because I know these things can take time, BUT, I just got let go from my current firm. I have til 12/15 to find a new job.

Do I tell her my timeline is now a month, or is telling them I'm getting fired going to tank my chances of getting the job?

Job transition question: I recently accepted an offer for a new role with Merrill Lynch, the following day I was fired from my previous employer. I haven’t filled out the updated work history background check info yet. The reason for termination was due to performance expectations not being met. Should I reach out to my new employer and let them know that I’ve been terminated? Should I just put the termination update on the background check form and leave it at that? Wondering what I should do.
