Hi there, I’m a nurse practitioner in Florida and I can say most of the time you can go into the website of the hospital system you’re looking to work for as far as patient care assistant jobs most of them I believe would hire you if you’re certified Medical assistant or if you’re looking for clinic, Outpatient offices are often owned by medical systems in different sub specialties, including primary care and list those positions on there. I know we’ve got a few right now in Tampa.
Depending on where you live, they’re hiring everywhere. One of the problems maybe is that you don’t have enough experience.
Where are you located? I really wanted to get into Sutter and applied a few times and finally received an interview. Sutter loves new grads or MA’s with little experience because they like to train the MA’s their own way. They even have a four week medical assistant resident program.
you can apply to clinics were they have Hight turn overs they are usually desperate, i got hire with no certification
Yes, high turnovers are good for the experiences, however, get out as soon as possible because it's not worth staying in.
NOPE. ever since hospital here ELIMINATED Our jobs..Mental Health Counselor Registered Nurse in ER no work little money deep debts Creditors sued me. Went from $117K to $30K year hard times...All about PROFITS OVER PATIENTS CASH OVER CARE...sad our jobs are still needed Mental health Services poor in Palm Springs area. All about the rich and famous
I can relate. I went from $30 an hour to $10 years ago, but I had to change the way I was living. I didn't allow myself to be in that situation again.
I was using Indeed as my primary job search, and had a lot more luck there. I also find the contact numbers of the places that I applied to a couple days before, then I call and introduce myself to HR or the hiring manager. I offer to bring a resume in person, most often they say just to email it or submit it online, but I know that it puts a face with one of the hundreds of resumes that they get any given week.
It’s the job market as a whole post covid. It’s rough you pretty much only secure a job if you know someone on inside. Even fields that need bodies to be filled I hear ppl have a hard time which doesn’t make sense to me but it is what it is. Just try to network that’s my recommendation.
Maybe volunteering for some experience to put on your resume would help
I might be your location. There are tons of positions available in Oklahoma. But then again, who wants to live in Oklahoma?
Try an employment agency
Here is the advice i was given on using chat gpt to hit key words the algorithm that pre-reviews applications before hr ever sees them .
Many employers look at low experience in the wrong way. I prefer new CNAs. They don't come with bad attitude and habits. I prefer to train myself. People lack compassion and empathy. And that's something that cannot be taught. Employers need to stop thinking experienced will do a better job than the fresh new inexperienced.
