I’ve very fortunate to have a new job. I wanted WFH, but I guess it wasn’t in the cards. Do you think people who work from home are that much happier?

It depends on the person. I like a mix, days where I can introvert and focus on a specific project while wearing leggings and drinking coffee from my favorite mug AND days were I can feel the buzz of the office and interact with the people we serve. I like the flexibility to WFH when I have a sick child or repair person but I like talking to coworkers and the insights that happen from those off the cuff conversations.

likesmart

I agree with D1. Don’t forget the little things that can make office work more relaxing though… like bringing in your favorite mug to drink out of at work.

Who knows with the new role there may be changes in a few months/ years where you can work from home a day or two a week.

I will never go back to an office. I’m more productive at home, and I tend to get more done. My work is always 100% completed, and I don’t always have to work a 40 hour week to accomplish that. I clean during breaks and don’t have to spend my weekends catching up on household chores either. It’s my perfect scenario.

I work from home and I love it! I hate snow, ice, severe thunderstorms and the traffic that goes with that weather. Even if I am not feeling well, I can still log on and get my work done also being able to take a break or go to the bathroom without asking permission.

A nurse can WFH doing a variety of nursing roles. Online teaching is one. Case management and Utilization Reviews for insurance companies are other ways. Also consultations, legal nurse and so much more. Nurses are not robots and even when working on the floor/unit, we still have to use critical thinking to manage patient care. WFH is no different except we get to have lunch and an actual pee break! 😇

like

I love it because I am an introvert. I have to go into the office once a week but I can’t get any work done because the extroverts who are dying for social interaction won’t leave me alone. I even close and lock my door and still get knocks.

likeupliftinghelpful

Yes!!! And if they were coming over to discuss cases or something I would be ok with it. But they just want to talk about garbage all day long.

like

I am severely Bipolar and WFH allows me to deal with my symptoms with privacy and dignity. I have quotas/productivity and quality I have to meet
I can drink as much coffee, watch movies, cry, and take short walks as long as my work is completed. My appearance and my emotions are a shambles, but I can keep down a job and not worry about disability. I have a real income, benefits and my coworkers don't know what I struggle with. Not every work from home situation is the same.

like

I love wfh. No covid exposures to worry about! No noise or distractions from my work. Just focused patient care. Would never go back!

It sounds to me like it would be great to be able to work around your life instead of having to cancel your life because of crazy work schedules Do they have wfh pharmacy jobs ?

I go one day a week and really enjoy it!
It’s my social day to work with my peers.

I am one of those that love working from home. My current job transitioned is back to the office 3 days a week a few months ago. I started looking for a full wfh role. Think I landed one with a 20k pay increase as well. Same type of job for a hospital…out of state. It’s a risk but I think I’ll take it - wfh you can be so much more productive at home and at work.

Very impressive

I have worked from home for 14 years and I would never go back to an office. It takes a lot of self discipline but once you get in a groove it’s bliss. The only down side is not having as much human contact. I used to make all of my friends in the office. I am an introvert so I don’t mind the solitude, but sometimes I miss having work buddies.

like

I love working from home. It gives me flexibility that I wouldn’t have otherwise. When you’re relatively young and changing jobs frequently you don’t really get to build much on office relationships anyway so for me it doesn’t matter much that I don’t get to see people face to face.

like

I'd love to work from home, but it's just harder in some industries. It is what it is.

like

Depends on the day for me. I am a very social person and love the interactions that I get when I am at work. Plus I think there is something to be said for promotion potential from being on site and seen.

like

I hate working from home. I am way too distracted and enjoy the busy of the office. I think it just depends on the human. (And I’m 100% introvert)

like

I agree with a Director 1, it depends on the person. I LOVE working from home as I get more done. In the office people were dropping in wasting my time, I can stay focused at home. I don't have to spend an hour dressing, doing hair and makeup, waste time and money on the commute. I jump out of bed, turn on the coffee and open the laptop. If I need to work long hours, I can break for dinner w/family and then go back without driving back and forth or simply eating in the office. I can also throw in a load of laundry on the way to the bathroom. Other people get too distracted at home, a load of laundry turns into 5 other things. Other people need to be around people, feel too lonely at home.

I have WFH for 2.5 years and manage a team.I couldn't be happier and find myself working more and being more productive. My co-workers are my 3 dogs that I get to take outside when I have no meetings on the calender.I would never go back to an office environment.

like

I love wfh I have adult kids at home with me and we are closer since covid and have a very integrated family life. On my lunch break we often make lunch together. It helps that I don’t have commute time in my day anymore, I save on gas and rarely even use my car. No more rushed anxiety filled mornings and being in traffic. If I was alone at home and felt more isolated without neighbors that are friends I may feel differently but maybe not! I also love not being entangled in office dramas. I never want to go back into an office.

like

I definitely agree with your experience. Would love to continue to work at home. Tag me in any position your organization have available.🙂

A third vote for it depends. I was philosophically opposed to it until my current position and now O love it. I provide direct services and only having to manage client energy works much better for me. I find I manage my own energy better in my own space rather than taking in stuff from coworkers as much. I have had to figure out incorporating movement and more intentionality socially but it's well worth it to me

helpful

I work remotely from home full time. Most days I love it. I can leave all the hustle and bustle of office chatter behind and be more productive. Some days I do miss going into the office but that’s only during the rare times I’m not busy. My work is usually busy all the time so I get more done wfh than in the office. I can work late or weekends being remote to catch up on work. If I were in the office, I will never go into the office on the weekend just to work. Hell no. Lol

like

I love being able to work from home hybrid.
However, I don't have children, nor a partner, so I can understand how my situation is different.

I'm also a neurospicy person and it definitely helps me not to have to mask (emotionally and presentation wise) all day everyday.

However for my older sisters, it would be hard to be in office due to picking up kids especially of you're a single parent

I don't have form 16 OR PF . I worked there around 2years.

Now how to proof?

During my interview process I clearly stated my salary expectations of 95k-105k. They came back with an offer at 80k. Is it even possible for us to come closer to a better agreement with them being so low? All other aspects of the job are in line with what I'm looking for, so I really want to make this work.
