You can't
Salary information are not shared in background checks. Think it's illegal, only your new employer can ask this info from you which you're free to decline
You can't
It’s not shared
Ey1&2 with irrelevant answers. It can be shared by your old hr dpt. It's part of the disclosure agreement you sign
You can't? I thought you had to authorize the disclosure by providing the background check people the verification phone number and a code or something. You can't refuse to do that (so the new employer will know you're lying), but that's different
They won’t share it. No upside for the previous employer and only introduces risk. Would be easier for the new employer to require W2s

If your employer uses TheWorkNumber or something similar like Deloitte does, you have to authorize each request by providing a unique "salary key" to the requestor. You generate the keys on the site.
Just lol at thinking your future employer isn't going to find out your salary. Just lol. Millenials.
The people who say "you can't" really have no idea what they are talking about.
For the record, I didn’t say they can’t - just that previous employer won’t. Sharing those details only exposes the previous employer to risk, should some hr bozo screw up the salary number or something like that
For the record I never lied about current salary. I simply said "a bit above market and also expecting a salary increase in a few weeks" never said a range, never said a number.
Usually firms will only share years of employment and your title/location/group.
PwC uses a third party vendor to do these employment verifications
If you give them your name and SS, or even name and DOB they can probably figure it out.
I was used as a reference for a former employee. The new company asked her salary. I replied, "I am not sharing that with you. Are you even legally allowed to ask that question?" She immediately apologized and moved on. Most companies will not ask. However, they will likely ask you and could request to see your paycheck stub/W2.
