Many large companies are self-insured and use the carrier more as a Third party administrator of their insurance. So not sure how helpful it will be to know which insurers they use.
Thank you very much. I would like to stay with a carrier accepted by Stanford Health Care and last year they failed to reach an agreement with Blue Shield / Blue Cross. Stanford is not currently accepting carriers from the health care insurance exchange so I'm looking for employer-sponsored coverage they accept. Ideally I will only apply to these employers. Hoping this explanation helps me and others.

Asking the recruiter for that information. They can always provide.
You may also find the company specific costs on Glassdoor or even connecting with an employee on LinkedIn.
Thank you very much!
Great question! If I had multiple offers I think that could make a difference in a split decision. I would be interested in what the deductibles and copays would be. I would be happy to learn more on how you would compare my carriers. Please keep sharing any insights.
Thank you! I've had long experience (33 years) with a single employer offering UHC with UMR as a third party administrator (and Kaiser, which I've never chosen). The benefits have been amazing but I think that's a function of the plan more than the carrier. My campus had a teach-down and after three years of that, my job there is concluded as of 2/28/25. I'd be happy to compare your carriers.
