Almost Monday, back to the grind 😪😪
Has your company made vaccine mandatory?
I have received offer from Qualcomm. They haven't mentioned about relocation bonus or accommodation in the offer letter. I have tried reaching the hr since the next day of hr round but they haven't responded to my calls or mails. Any advice on how to get accommodation and relocation bonus. Or is it not possible anymore? FYI I'm in city x and the offered position is in city y of another state.
Update :
After several follow ups Hr have agreed they will give the relocation bonus and reimbursement
Fam, need an advice. Asking for a close friend. He has 2 offers 1. Jpmc: ctc 21 lakhs(excludes bonuses) 2. Morgan stanley through third party: ctc 27 lakhs (includes everything) Which is better in terms of career growth, job security? Work is sort of similar in both. #Morgan Stanley #JPMorgan Chase
Job-Hunting reach-out to VC from previous fundraising effort for own startup
I have e-mail archive from 1y ago of my reach-out to 65 VCs in London: we had video calls, they might remember me still, who knows.
I want to send a reply/forward message to the same e-mail thread from abc@gmail.com, saying that I am looking for roles within their VC firm. Is that a good idea?
Or shall I just start new email thread and mention how I know them?

I know this is kinda rhetorical but someone actually wrote a book about it. It’s a collection of profiles of about 150 famous creatives. Like writers, painters, composers, thinkers.
People like Franz Kafka, Georgia O’Keeffe, Andy Warhol, Charles Darwin, Jane Austen, Igor Stravinsky, and Benjamin Franklin.
He looks at what time they woke up, how they structured their day and how they dealt with distractions, habits they used to stay productive etc

I order this
Because creatives are smart. They know if they agree to "start early" they will still be expected to "jam" until 2 am. It's pure self preservation.
Pro
This.
Maybe because they’re too tired from being up til 2??

You gotta be kidding me
Or better yet. Get it done during the day.

I start my work day at 7:30am and by 10:30am when everyone is starting to log in, I’ve already gotten soooooo much done.
Pro
Haha yup!
I’ve never ever been a morning person, no matter how hard I’ve tried or been scolded as a junior that “office hours begin at 9am” and that I’m just lazy and adopted bad habits that I need to learn to break, by countless people. I naturally get more energized as the day passes and into the evening. Some of us are naturally wired this way - my brain doesn’t start to function at its best until around 11am-noon. My mom told me that, even as a baby, I slept in later than my brother and sisters did. This is just who I am. I respect the early birds who are built differently, but I wish the respect and understanding went both ways.
Same here. And I’m an account person.
I just do neither. I suggest it.

Sorry, my gout flared up

Marines never sleep
I work in the morning just not for my job.
I had an art partner who was a morning person and it was awesome because we’d concept in the early afternoon but I’d jam on what I need to late into the night, pass on what I had to them, and they’d pick it up in the morning while I slept in. Ended up being able to turn things around a lot faster than most teams.
I start working between 7:00 and 7:30 so not really sure what you mean. I get my best work out before 9:00.
The bars in New York City close at 4:00 am. We need a few hours of shuteye before we get our asses up and do it all over again!
Can’t relate to this comment. I’m a creative who prefers early work, I need to get outside in the evening or I go insane.
They may like wake up later then early …
I’m west coast and work in earlier time zones. Get that lame work done and then GO TOUCH GRASS. It’s a job, not a lifestyle.

I’m east coast based and my client is west coast.
I think you pick what works for you. For me - early mornings I have clarity and ideas flow. After 6pm I don’t have much new going on I’m just tired. So when I need to grind it’s still going to happen before the next day starts. You can stay up late or rise and grind. There will still be something to talk about with the team the following day.
