Does anyone have any insights on what a typical Sr. Associate Director makes at Boehringer Ingelheim? I have a range of 170-180k which I think is fair but don’t want to be underpaid. Also, any information regarding retirement planning or medical/dental benefits would be helpful. Haven’t gotten much out of HR. Thanks in advance!

What makes you uncomfortable about it? I'm all for it! I'd happily volunteer my salary. Pay transparency benefits ALL workers. Keeping quiet about pay only benefits the companies.
The people in my office would just never talk about it, and that's fine by me. I consider it my own personal business. If people want to volunteer what they make, that's their business. But I wouldn't appreciate people asking me that.
Totally valid
Ugh yeah, been there. I totally support pay transparency, but when someone asks out of nowhere, it feels weird. I’ve started saying something like, “I’m still figuring out how I feel about sharing that, but I support the convo.” Helps me stay honest without oversharing. Where I work, people don't share; where you work, people usually share freely?
I was told by my supervisor not to discuss my pay with others because it was obvious I was getting paid more than them during my annual review conversation. So for my sake I don't want to have that conversation with my other co-workers. But I would want to have that conversation if I was the co-worker not getting paid the same as my peers. Best to keep it personal and advocate for yourself.
I like the idea of salary transparency, so I wouldn't have a problem disclosing my pay. I'm just not the type to initiate that conversation because I don't want to make anyone else uncomfortable. If someone brought it up, I'd be fine sharing though.
I don’t think I’d ever go up and just outright say hey what’s your salary to somebody. If I want to know, I at least try to warm up the conversation a little. But someone asked me I do tell them. I think it’s important to be open about your compensation.
I don’t like talking about money but if you have a rapport with someone could be ok. It’s so easy to create a sense of jealousy though.
