How do I deal with a boss that won’t handoff more challenging accounting work to me? I have been working at this job since April of this year and I’ve just now gained access to QuickBooks. I have a bachelors in financial management and I’ve been working in accounting for about five years now and yet I feel like I am being treated as an accounting intern. For context it seems that prior employees have done poor work and so she is hyper fixated on making sure that I can do things correctly.

I’m kind of stuck what to do. The principal at my school is very intimidating, confrontational, and not pleasant to work for. I love teaching but feel like I have to walk on egg shells around him.

Baby due end of Jan and wife taking full maternity leave (12 wks) and then back to work. Considering taking paternity (16 wks) after that. How and when do I tell my various teams and file paperwork?

Completely and totally miserable at my firm and just need a space to vent because my friends are tired of hearing about it. I wish the worst part about it was the amount of work, rather than the completely toxic culture, lack of appreciation, arbitrary and back/breaking deadlines, lack of mentorship/feedback/training, and the fact that the associates act like they don’t even know each other. Any advice on how to tastefully tell your manager that you no longer want to be a charge nurse anymore? For us being in charge is having full assignment 3p-7p & being responsible for assigning pts , communicating w/ supervisor about various issues, making the assignment for next shift, and a mini report about each pt for the next charge. We have sales people in Canada and the US, the Canadians make 150K CAD and down here it’s 150K USD, the Canadians argue they should be making 30% more than the US colleagues to be equal bc of the exchange! I explain the salary is dependent on the market data for them in Canada, WHERE THEY LIVE, and you can’t compare it to the US employees and the market data down here. Overall they are both in the 75th% for total comp. for their industry. Am I wrong?
