How do I document my conversation with a partner about the only negative comment in my evaluations, which turned out to be utter and complete BS?

I would write it on the evaluation document itself

like

No, I would put it on the original and leave the original with HR.

like

I would send an email to HR or if there a partner in your office who handles the evaluation process

like

Did the partner agree it was BS? If so, talk with him about getting the write up changed. Or did the partner make the comment?

like

What was the comment? Is it really worth trying to correct?

like

You can ask the partner to “correct” the evaluation.

If they won’t, you can ask HR to correct it, and they may review emails and other evidence to determine who is right. A friend did this, and HR found her to be correct and had her work with a different partner going forward.

If none of the above works, you can draft a response to the evaluation and ask for it to be included with evaluation. This is important for promotion purposes in the future, and also to build a record of good performance if you ever need to resolve an employment dispute with the firm.

Was it actually “utter and complete BS” or did you just disagree with it?

This is not my wheelhouse so I’m not sure of the answer. If someone is writing a “memoir” and is including me in it, and I DONT want to be in the book, do I have any legal recourse? I understand since it’s been published it doesn’t meet any invasion of privacy or potential defamation yet, but is there something I can do preliminarily to protect myself and stop my inclusion?

If you use the pomodoro method for time focus and tracking, do you bill in those increments or just keep your billablr timer going the whole time? For example, I work in 25 minute increments for large projects then I get a break. Do I bill .5 for that increment and restart my billing or keep my billing continuously going thereby not rounding up for those 5 min? I have just kept my timer going.

Horrible anxiety about considering a new job....
I was one of the big firm stealth layoffs in covid and joined a boutique firm in Sept. They came sort of close to matching my salary but I moved to SoCal and have an opportunity to jump back in to big law and get $100k raise. The people at the small firm are so nice, but hours are nuts and if I’m going to work this much, I might as well get paid more, right? Is it too soon? How do you tell them when the managing partner took you under his wing?
