Got messaged by a C3 . ai recruiter. Read that wlb is bad and that the interview process is absurdly long, but the Glassdoor reviews are 4.2 and can't find actual hours worked posted by anyone. How's the culture really? I'd be aiming for DS consulting, something more functional but with DS/ML concepts as my differentiator.

Start with the boring stuff. That hand transformations you need to do in excel? Do that in python or R instead.
Checking data by some heuristic in your head? Can that be coded? Instead of a hard barrier, can you use statistics to define the barrier? How about standard deviations and interquartile ranges for outlier detection?
Are you making decisions by some rules? Can it be coded in a rule based decision tree?
Can the decision tree be an actual decision tree based on Gini and entrophy?
Start with simple ideas and add the sophistication later on.

It’s constantly delivering and slowing winning hearts one-by-one.
Nothing gets done in a group setting. People want to feel included.
You need to repeatedly share your thoughts, get them to talk about it, get ideas, incorporate their thoughts, make it sound like their ideas played a role… and it’s a collective achievement.
When it comes to selling: it’s not about coding and it’s not about pushing your ideas. It’s how you can help them get forward in their careers too.
How does rooting for your idea help them? You can easily claim “so and so gave guidance for this project” etc and you can still put your name as the author of the project.
