When I have to do remote meetings I've got things more or less organized so what's visible behind me is a boring bookshelf that looks reasonably organized. The rest of the room can look, at times, like a bomb went off. But I've got that wedge of space behind me that's tidy. To complete the illusion, I keep a nice professional looking button-down Zoom shirt on a hanger on the back of my bedroom door. Throw that on and I'm all business.
That’s me too! I have a couple polos and shorts ready to put on 2 minutes before the meeting lol
I don't have kids but I do have a dog who seems to get needier the minute I am on a Zoom call haha. I don't feel like it ever ends up being that big of a deal though. Normally he gives up if I ignore him for 10 mins or so. I don't really feel like anyone should be embarrassed about kids or pets at home, it's part of life and it makes us more human
Oh wow sounds like my dog! She comes around to the bed and licks my ear while I’m on a call. It sucks because the meeting is right around her morning breakfast.
Thankfully I have a babysitter who comes around during my working days. I can't imagine taking care of my twin 3 year old's AND working simultaneously. But I do eat lunch with them, say hi here and there and pitch in if she needs a minute. As for embarrassing moments, I just close my office door lol. Reminds me of the viral dad moment where his kids walked in while he was being interviewed on Live TV and there's nothing he could do about it.
Oh wow I couldn’t imagine not having a babysitter in your situation! And yes I remember that guy having his kids walk in too!!
