How do you de-stress after a long day at work? I know a few of my coworkers heavily drink and smoke… but I’m thinking I need to find a healthier alternative. It’s been pretty rough lately since we’re so understaffed. What do you do? Any suggestions?

Oh yeah, the standard restaurant reset is definitely spending all your tip money at the local bar favorite 🤣 I've been there, done that, and always regret it afterwards. Now I just head home straight from work to read and get some sleep and go for an early morning walk with my coffee. Love the idea of adding in some meditation, too.

That’s so disciplined of you! Morning cup of joe is healthier than that late night extra drink for sure - I should try just leaving right after work… but then I have a mound of laundry to do… so then end up not wanting to go home to the mess

I've really started enjoying my walks home. I know not everyone has that opportunity but I'm thankful I do. I'll put in my AirPods and listen to music that Iove and just enjoy the fresh air while going home. I know it's simple but it helps me destress and relax for the night.

That’s actually a great idea. I live a little too far to walk but I can certainly bike home. Gotta get in that exercise!

I do yoga and meditation. Also, the treadmill and music! 😌

Yoga and meditation. Meditation has healing. Mind body and soul, as does yoga. Music most def will de-stress! 😁

I was like your coworkers for way too long. I've since gotten really into working out. It helps me blow off steam without having to deal with a hangover the next day. Highly recommend,.

Working out is so hard to get started. Totally want to do it though!

I usually play video games to destress myself

Yes! I do that too - helps to a certain degree but not completely for me.

I read a lot, it helps if you have a Kindle unlimited subscription. I know someone else who likes to knit and croquet. Let me know if you want any old sci-fi/fantasy book recommendations.

So I work as an assistant manager at a restaurant for the past 9 months. I've worked in restaurants for the past 6 years science I was 16. Now I'm 22. I went to a trade school for media and film. I got a dream opportunity to work in the field making about the same or 10% more. I told myself the only reason I'd leave this company is for this type of job. Should I take the chance at this job and leave the restaurant that is on the rise and growing?
