I am in the same situation. I think it helps for me to remember a few things:
1) This is just a job. It doesn’t have the power to impact my mood/emotions unless I allow it to. Don’t let it control who you are.
2) Everyone is trying their best. No one is trying to make mistakes. When you make mistakes, you’d want it to be forgiven, right? So be stern but don’t be angry. Try to figure out what is leading to mistakes and fix that.
3) A lot of factors are out of your control (pandemic impacts, vendors messing up, etc.) What do you gain from being angry about something you can’t control? You’re using a lot of energy and paying attention to uncontrollable factors.
I’d rather focus on what I can do to make the situation better or what I can control/fix which makes me feel better. This helps me deal with this crazy situation that we’re in right now because I know I can make it better by doing XYZ. I also have confidence that we’re gonna get through this! So hang in there!!!
Get out of agency life and move client side. Then you'll have a different set of issues, but hopefully you're more in control of Q4 planning.
Be thankful you are working.
Yes someone always has it worse...doesn’t mean you need to trivialize this person’s problems
Make peace with the fact that this is part of the job much like the good times is too. We are service providers....
