I just stay away from work-related tasks. I don't check email, go into school, shop for my classroom, etc.
I also don't get anxiety over my job - especially at the start of a new year. If I did, I'd find a new career. Life's too short to spend time doing something that doesn't bring fulfillment.
I went on and retired at 28 years. I can’t do it anymore and life’s too short to not be enjoyed.

I had to resign.
I slowly work through small issues that will make my life easier at the beginning of the year. For me, taking care of small stuff during the down time reduces the anxiety of the craziness for the beginning of the year.
There is no deleting the anxiety of going back, but this summer I have been semi-successful at trying to balance it by having a more adventurous summer break. Planning and taking day trips has helped me focus on the needs and the joy of the day, distracting me from thinking too much about the looming year.
Hey there…..I completely understand the anxiety you're feeling about the upcoming school year, but I want you to remember to give yourself permission to enjoy your well-deserved summer break. Take this time to recharge, relax, and focus on self-care. It's natural to have some concerns, but try not to let them overshadow the present moment. Reflect on the positive impact you've made as a teacher and the difference you'll continue to make in the lives of your students. Trust in your abilities and the experience you've gained. When the time comes, you'll be ready to tackle the challenges that lie ahead. For now, allow yourself to unwind and savor the joys of summer. You've earned it, and I'll be here to support you every step of the way when the new school year begins.
