Pay up for a nanny, when you are home, be present, and take on more when possible.
It’s likely going to be tough. We did it with two under two and that eventually came to a head. My only advice is not to offer suggestions or try to fix things from a far. Let them vent and be sympathetic. Do what you can while at home to help your partner catch up on sleep.
I don’t travel for work and told my leadership I wouldn’t Outside of special occasions.
How is your wife feeling about everything? If she's ok with it, then try not to get too stressed. You'll find out after this week how everything works out, and then you can make the decision as to whether you'll continue traveling, need to hire more help, etc. See how things go.
She is awesome and has been saying that she will handle things back home. But she also works FT and I know its going to be difficult. But I agree with you, I guess we will find out how it goes by the end of the week!
The best thing I think you can do is make sure your wife knows that she and the kids are your priority.
My wife is a SAHM of 3 and knows that if she were to call me and say this (the traveling) is too much and that we need a change, I would immediately start looking for something else no questions asked. We take this job one day at a time and communicate frequently about it.
