Be a slave to your job and bow before everyone. Kiss ass. Even then it's no guarantee 🤔
I had great performance reviews, but apparently didn't kiss enough ass and got laid off. Sorry, you're never really safe. I say just work as hard as you can, and make the right relationships, because it's harder to let people go when they know you well and like you personally.
Also, always keep your eyes open for a job in industry. Specifically, companies who have a track record of not laying off their employees. The economy is going down this year, and while no one knows how bad, it's better keep yourself safe.
Directors and managers are expensive to keep around on the bench, especially if directors aren't hitting their sales targets. Other than that, it seems to be people with low utilization rates. In some scenarios, it's people who happen to be on the bench at a particular point in time.
Get lunch with managers, directors, or any level that sells projects
As a staff 2 rolling off a project in about a month, this thread scares me
Don't mess with your expenses.
#1 Stay chargeable!
#2 Make sure your skill set is relevant / in demand
#3 Get good reviews, build quality professional relationships with peers management and clients
That said, hitting the bench at the wrong time can make you a target. Keep your options open and don't be afraid to move on if your practice is struggling to sell work...
1. Stay chargeable 2. Stay chargeable 3. Dont piss off ppl
Don't suck?
