Can you give a bit more context? Are you looking for a new job or trying to network within your current organization?
In my experience, 1:1 meetings are much more fruitful and successful than large group gatherings. Try reaching out to people for a quick 15 min “virtual coffee”.
As far as questions, remember that people love talking about themselves. Worry less about impressing them and more about having it be an enjoyable meeting - so when they look back they will remember you fondly. Asking about people’s own personal experiences is always a good way to go. What’s the most interesting project they worked on, what are the most interesting CX trends they are seeing in the field, etc

For context, I’m looking for a new job and the second round during the recruitment process is a virtual networking with consultant and managers of the firm but also with other candidates I’m competing with.
So far for my questions I’ve got: 1) what initiative they found most interesting at their firm and could they tell us more about it? 2) Could they share their vision on a topic such as how AI will transform business models of the future to engage more with customers or 3) how do they include sustainability practices in their project.
I feel that these questions are maybe too much work-related and I’m stressed that the conversation won’t feel natural and will look more like a Q&A.
I was told that we would be evaluate by the relevance of our questions and our presentation of screen.
