We’re in southern CA, and though we could buy a 800k house and maybe up to 1.2mil in a few years, I want to buy something more affordable in a lower cost of living area and have a better quality of life. I want our son to have a backyard! We both have great jobs but I make significantly more money than he, and he says he will never move from his current job because they offer a pension. 😭😫

This will be a career path change for me (currently in international tax), so looking for any insights from current practitioners. Obviously doing some background research on my own, but any info on interesting aspects of the work and/or talking points that would lead to a richer discussion about the work would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!
