Wow. McKinsey, which has the biggest public sector presence of the MBB, really hasn't been doing too hot at all in the sector.
Its presence is tiny and it's gotten even smaller. Meanwhile it's bungling whatever opportunities it's getting.

Without an MBA is 99% from campus. With an MBA I would say lateral recruiting is higher but definitely not super high either.
That's what I observed. In case of undergrads usually hiring is done on campus. That too only from tier 1 undergrad colleges.
Would you mind telling whether you are in your current role post undergraduate or post MBA?
And how much is your total workex (pre MBA+post MBA) in case you have done your MBA?
Thanks for asking.
I am an undergrad. As a matter of fact I graduated in 2020 itself but luckily was hired back in March'20 as an intern and made permanent in 3 months. So I'll have 1 YoE in June and that's when I plan on switching to consulting.
But considering I am an average kid from a not so prestigious college of DU, I am trying to search and exploit every possible chance I have.
Yep this sounds right for lateral hiring. Typically seen it happen from other consulting firms.
I have a question around the similar lines. I have 1.5 years of work experience post MBA, how can I switch into consulting?
Hate to say it, but depends on where you did your MBA from. Ask a friend at these firms to refer you for lateral hiring, if they are currently looking.
