@rbc1 I think a bit of stagnation but mainly slow compensation growth in most firms. I still see hiring happening though

Market is going to get worse before it gets better. Big 5 banks are doing layoffs and hiring freezes at government agencies.

I’m trying to hire a non-tech PM for a while and people suck at basic math and PowerPoint.

NY lawyer looking to come back after 2 years away. Market isn't looking too hot, and I'm already preparing to take a 60% hair cut in pay. At this point I'm getting better bites from US remote roles.

Can you help me out with this- I have two opportunities at hand as a Manager in Genpact and Infosys BPM? Which one would be better in terms of career progression and value addition to my profile?

Hi fishes , just to know how much YOE and CTC you are getting as an embedded engineer and what skills you have aquired by this time.

Looking to finally go get my SPHR having the PHR for the past 6 years. Still value and pursuing and obtaining?

Got braids. You'd think I literally got a face transplant from how shook my coworkers are. I would say over 10 people have stopped me to ask about them or comment on them and I've been at work for maybe 2 1/2 hours. It's all been positive, but am I wrong for still finding it annoying? They don't lose their minds when Sarah gets bangs or whatever so I wish they could keep that same energy.

I don’t like any of the Dem candidates, but oddly enough I’d prefer Yang over Warren, Bernie, Kamala, or Biden. Especially considering I think UBI is asinine. Is that weird?

Hi! I have worked in management roles in tech, mainly in analytics, for approximately 10 years. My TC has fluctuated (currently around 135K CAD), but it seems like it's relatively easy to breach the 100K bar, but hard to breach the 150K bar. I now work at the CBC, but I have worked in the private sector too. What is the most realistic way to move to 200K? 1) Continue moving the ladder to a VP position, 2) Switch to Pre-Sale, 3) Switch to Consulting, 4) Work from a U.S. company from Canada.

Toronto banks: remote or not? They sometimes post jobs where it doesn’t say it’s remote, but no branch/ location/address either. Then you get an interview and they tell you it’s remote/hybrid(1-2-3days, take your pick)/on-site. So, if you work at TD, Scotia, RBC, could you let everybody know in the comments what’s the deal for each? Are you remote, on-site, hybrid of some sort?

Making a lot of money relative to the average but feeling poor? Median after-tax income was ~$55,000 in 1981 and was ~$73,000 in 2020. Using a Bank of Canada inflation calculator $55,000 in 1981 is equivalent to ~$165,000 today, which would put someone in the top 10% of earners today. But in 1981 the median family had that extra money. Who can I blame?
