How late do you allow a client to be to an initial consult and still take the meeting?

Assume a completely new client off the street/Google. You don't have any other appointments for the rest of the day, but you do have calls to make and sh*t to do in general.

I think it would depend on whether you see value for the case or not.

I wait 10 minutes and set a timer on my phone. After that, I send a quick email saying I am not representing them and that I assume they no longer require my services.

Show people how to treat you.

I'm just learning that bc I'm so underpaid it's a jokes and I am so scared to ask for a raise.

Is this a free consult or are they paying?

I call them once they are 15 minutes late. I'll try to reschedule because we usually have back to back meetings. If you're a solo why would turn away a client just for being a little late? Of all the client offenses, this minor.

Got to a modeling round for a PE Firm and it’s later today. Really like the people but not a big fan of the investment strategy. Wondering if withdrawing from the process right now would hurt my relationship with the HH’s?

I’m working with them for a few firms I’m way more interested in but aren’t kicking off for the next week or two. Should I just do the model test and withdraw, or would beforehand work as well? Any insight would be helpful

3 attorney firm. I’ve been here for 6 years and have used Westlaw exclusively. Now we are switching to Lexis because apparently Westlaw is too expensive. I hate change. Any insight on negotiating Westlaw or transitioning to lexis?
