Probably not, but you may be getting close. for instance chase has a 5/24 rule meaning they won't approve you for a new card if you have opened 5 cards in the past 24 months

Near likely won’t be an issue. Keep an eye on your credit score because of the hard pulls having a subtle (or not so subtle) impact to your score.
With wedding expenses + desirable travel, you’d want to balance out a few things. Maximize sign up bonus relative to what spending could go on card (non-grocery/restaurant/travel) would make venture x a solid candidate for 2x points on all purchases. If you’re spending on grocery/dining out, Amex gold might make more sense.
The airline card can be a part of the equation but likely wouldn’t be a big spender after you hit sub unless it’s useful for status (I’m United ignorant so forgive the lack of knowledge there).
You’re fiancé is spot on with this tho-doing before the spending starts is an easy way to reap benefits on things you’re ALREADY buying. Definitely the time to open a few cards
As long as you know the variables that effect credit score and you track all your statement dates and payment dates and pay off all balance you can open as many credit cards (chase bofa citi have their own rules) as you want.
As many as your credit profile can handle. Had upwards of 60 at one time.
This was back in the good old days of Fatwallet.com Finance message board posts and when Washington Mutual and Wachovia were still banks.
Now I have about 15 card a that I rotate throughout the year, every 3 months.
