Yeah that tracks with my experience - doing mix of strategy and CDDs . Plenty of down weeks tho.
CDDs are always a lot of hours and a big push, but in my experience the good thing is once you get done, partners are often willing to provide some down time as a reward for the big push.
Max 70 on a really bad week.

50 hours a week but my pay is 85k with 3 YOE. Tech consulting here.
Does 50 feel sustainable? I’ve always thought if I could consistently pull 50 hour weeks, that’s would be tolerable.
40 sharp, any extra time worked rolls into next weeks 40. But I get paid a lot less than y’all
That’s amazing! Honestly for a cap of 40 hours, that’s worth it. Probably much more per hour than many pulling 60+ hours.
80-90 (including Sunday work)
Sunday work is literally the worst, but sometimes necessary to make Monday tolerable.
60-90. It’s a pretty big variance but on the worst weeks it’s late nights, early mornings, and weekend work.
The most I’ve done is 100, which basically meant working the entire weekend while on a case from hell and I refuse to ever do that again.
