I quit Facebook & instagram over a year ago and honestly haven't missed them at all.
same here; fishbowl has me hooked tho 😒
At this point it is basically only good for events and reaching out to people whose number you don’t have. Haven’t posted a status in years.

And yet people still want to exit to the “F” in FAANG. Why exactly? Apple and Amazon are notorious in the ways they exploit their workers - you can Google it - and while you’re at it Google will take and resell your privacy. I think the only option left is Netflix and chill.

I quit Facebook and Instagram inauguration day. If my day to day happiness level was sitting at a 6, I almost instantly jumped to an 8. No ragerts.
I was never on Instagram and not missing fb anymore.

Facebook has degenerated its original founding values. Great opportunity for a new entrant to disrupt this area of social media.

I have family and parents overseas that likes to see pictures of me. That’s the only reason I keep it.
I quit 8 months ago and hardly notice it's gone. Feel much more sane not getting angry at politically out of touch family / sharers of wildly inaccurate information
I use it for my interests in Facebook groups and messenger for keeping in touch. I actively snooze/ignore posts or feeds that don’t interest me
I quit Facebook and Instagram too, but feel I need to reconnect with old lost friends and about to get more active and start posting things on Facebook and Instagram. With this post now I’m confused 😐
Social media is like alcohol. Some people have been against it from the start, some have sworn it off completely after years of letting it control them. But that doesn’t mean the rest of us can’t use it responsibly and enjoy it.
R1, use responsibly? You do know that You are the product in this case and not Fb?
Using it responsibly includes being aware of what information you’re sharing and understanding how it’s used. This might be mind-bowing to you but it’s possible to use social media and have it benefit you rather than make your life worse.
Quit all social media (except fishbowl and I guess LinkedIn if that counts) 3 years ago and it had been a delight. I sincerely believe we will all look back on Facebook and Twitter in 20 years the way people look at big tobacco now
Any information you can share how you are using it responsibly and benefiting from it?
I was an early adopter of Facebook (back in the day when it was ‘The Facebook’ and needed college email to sign up) and an early abandoner too. I got fed up with targeted ads and invasive data mining practices so I deactivated, thinking it’d be for a month to see if I will want to get back on. 7+ years later, and glad I never got back on.
Same here D1. Signed up in ‘07 and got fed up with all bs ads and propaganda.
