How many of you were excited about this lifestyle while in college? Did you know what you were getting into?

Yes and still love it.... I like being able to compartmentalize work and play and geography is a good way to allow that

I can't imagine having "my own cube".... Depresses me.

Really underestimated the extent of travel. I miss being in my city and having the ability to take care of things on my own schedule instead of being forced to use my precious weekends for everything.

I've learned to embrace it - live free travel hard.

Incorporate work with your life - you'll feel free. People may think it's sad, but let's be honest the work ethic is what defines us - accept it.

I never realized what it actually would be. I was confused by it, then hated it, then learned to abuse and embrace :)

I didn't realize that being gone Mon-Thurs would be as lonely and miserable as its been. I've learned I'd rather be in my own city after work and see friends, join an intramural team etc.

I often think about how many people get the opportunity to look at a map and say "Hmm where should I fly to this month on not my own dime?!". The work I'm doing isn't the most exciting, but totally worth the flex trips on the weekends. I'll always have friends at home, but I won't have this freedom later in age. This is my time. #yolo
