Would need to cover cost of commute plus taking into account additional vehicles wear and tear and still be a decent bump in pay.
Why make it about money? If the hours are, say, 9-5, I'd say those hours need to include the commute. For the same price. I can't really put a price on my freedom! Sure, with an extra $30k I can hire a maid or cleaner or nanny or whatever to make some parts easier. But ultimately it's still eating into my precious time.
Can you catch the train or uber to work and do your emails, calls, planning and admin on your commute?
My thing is I have been remote for so long that I have a hard time giving up that flexibility even for a massive raise. I like that I can go to my mom's house and wait for a contractor or take my cat to a vet appointment on lunch or go outside and look at my garden. I'm having a hard time putting a number on that and I'm wondering if that means that I find it priceless. I would take the job in a heartbeat if it were fully remote or even just one day a week, but they don't offer any flexibility on the number of days.
I also didn't apply for it - the recruiter reached out, and I think I know that I wouldn't have applied for anything that said hybrid.
I would do it, i feel like ‘fully remote’ isnt a sure thing anymore. And in my experience‘hybrid’ can be pretty loose
Oh yeah I've never denied that. It has always been my preference, but I was trying to work through if I was willing to give it up for a significant raise and I think the answer is no.

Depends on the number of days a week and it's safe to assume they will want to increase that over time. For 1 day a week it'd be an extra 50k for me because I value the flexibility.
