I try not to under an hour. But it’s doable assuming everything goes like it’s supposed to. Which is rarely the case. It’s a spoke and wheel time set up so easy to get to other terminals. But even AA arrivals and departures can be in different terminals depending on the size of the plane. I have risked it, but never on the last flight of the night!
Assuming the flight in isn’t delayed, 45 min is more than enough you don’t have to change terminals at all if you’re flying AA
I’ve done it with a layover of about 45 minutes. American flight went into terminal E and had to get to B. I was on a smaller plane that I had to wait for my bag that was gate checked outside of the plane and then walk to terminal E before being able to be on my way to my next flight. Definitely doable but I was glad I made it and didn’t have to wait long to be on my way home.
Charlotte is easy. No trains and busses available or needed.
