Hi, this isn’t directly related to career pivot. But I have a question. I have been aggressively trying to pivot to consultancy. A recession is anticipated in the coming future. As a new hired employee, do I fear the axe of lay off falling on me first?

Was laid off in Sept. Unfortunately we will be seeing many more coming. It's what happens in a recession. Unfortunately I now also have my age against me. Not in a mentally good place at the moment.

Personal lines agents that work from supplied leads, have you guys noticed a huge slow down in lead quantity this year over last? I am writing almost half the business that I was this time last year, I’m starting to get worried about lay offs at my job if this continues. I joined LTI in March and got tagged to a brand new client. Until yesterday PM told that project will start soon and their is delay from client end. But today he confirmed that project is cancelled and now I'm just floating in employee's pool. What should I do in this situation? Why did they hire if they didn't have project confirmed. I want to get a dog. More specifically, a golden retriever. However, I have two major concerns: 1) this consulting lifestyle where I could potentially be away all the time and 2) I live in a pretty large 1/1 apartment (over 1000 sqft), but it's still an apartment.
