How often do you work with associates who are laid off, and what usually happens to them? I have an irrational fear of unemployment and it’s making my lateral choice difficult 😭 I’m trying to read tea leaves and assess firm financial health and I don’t think it’s helping anyone lol.

I was fired, not laid off, a year into practicing. It didn’t feel good and was embarrassing, but I found another job about a month later. I’ve been with that firm for 7 years and was made a partner last year. Bottom line, sometimes it’s just not a good fit but it happens and is certainly not a career-killer.

You make the best choice you can with all the information you have at the time. Analysis paralysis is very real, and it’s understandable with the job market.

They flounder. "the devil you know..." I wish you the best.

You do what everyone else does when they're laid off. Apply for unemployment, apply to jobs, interview, network and keep hustling until you find your next position.

I’ve worked 14+ days every day in November except yesterday when I only logged 6 hours of work (billable plus non-billable) (were required to upload our time every night now). How long should I wait after hanging up with our CFO just now who called me to tell me I’m behind and slacking to update my resume?

I have got one good opportunity.
They need me in one month where as current employer asking minimum two months.

What will be the way so I can tackle with them.??

I love to work directly with the landlord if possible.

If you know of any availability ease let me know.

I miss music. Like actual bands with instruments and vocal ability. Feels like the music industry is so hollowed out that multi-member instrumental bands like Fleetwood Mac, The Beatles, and even Metallica are no longer able to take root.

There are a few talented individual singers (Adele) a lot of awful mumble rappers, but no actual bands that will stand the test of time. Before I get called a Boomer, the problems with the music industry for new artists are well documented.

I need some career advice. I finished my master's degree in international law (B.A.Sc international relations) but I am not sure where to go from here. I always wanted to join a big firm and I've applied to different vacancies in international firms/companies but got rejected from all of them.
Does anyone have any tips on certain job positions or companies where an LLM would prove to be useful with my background?

I interviewed at a law firm and had my final round last Friday. The Tuesday afterward, I got a call from the recruiter saying the firm won’t have a decision for another week. I believe they’re interviewing other candidates. Does that make me second or third choice? And does the fact that I’m working with a recruiter hurt my chances of being selected due to the commission? Should I hold out for the offer or is 1+ week a sign that I won’t be selected?

Hi, been stuck in the contract analysis/review cycle. I have asked a few recruiters how to make a lateral move into in-house. I am in the final steps of the interview process for an in-house position. I mentioned to the recruiter that I had unvested equity I would be leaving on the table. She said the company would take this into account and make me whole. She later asked for proof of the equity in the form of my account statement and balance, which I provided. I have not yet received an offer. Is it typical for companies to ask for this documentation if they don't intend to make the candidate an offer?

I am looking for a new job at the end of a long career. I have excellent experience in IP and Supply Chain Management. I've been fortunate to be in a high-paying position in the Los Angeles area and I rarely see comparable positions posted. The comparable positions at my company are filled by one of the big executive search firms. Any recommendations for finding the rare executive-level legal positions or for landing on the radar of the big executive search firms would be much appreciated!
