While we’re at it, favorite restaurants in SoHo?
I’m moving from Houston to New York City in Jan 2022, any recommendation on specific apartment? I’m thinking about Elmhurst, Astoria, Long Island City. I do see apartment listings on apartment.com from 1,700-2,200 in those areas. But it’s hard to tell by pictures. I will be working near Radio City Music Hall in Manhattan. To me, safety and commute comes first. And then it’s the cost and Laundry facilities. Or should I live in NJ? Thanks!!!

It’s safe, but at 11 pm, buses from LGA will be far and few in between. There won’t be traffic so you best pay the taxi fare.
I’d pay for the cab at that time
You have to think is a 1.5-2 hour commute at that point of night worth the money saved. For me hell no, I rather pay for the cab.
Uber is like $30 from lga to lm
Not recently. I’m in midtown East and Ubers to LGA have been minimum $50 for the last month or two at least. And no, it’s not because of surge pricing.
It also won’t cost you $100 to get a taxi from LGA to Manhattan
Not safe. You are going to stick out like a sore thumb with your luggage riding that bus into Manhattan and then getting on a subway. The city is like the wild Wild West right now. Would recommend paying.
Do you know how wild the Wild West was? And do you actually live in the city? Lol
It's safe. Late at night though, I prefer taking the Q70 to Roosevelt Ave/74 and transferring to the E or 7 vs taking the M60 to 125th street
I mean $100 will get you uber black ahah

It’s more like 50 after tolls, not 100
That bus brings you to Harlem.
Safe, but not worth the hassle
