How short is too short? Joined a firm ~3 months ago, but not sure it is a fit from development, learning, and long term growth perspective. Partner from my old firm (big 4) reached out for a manager level role, and although I only recently left, am strongly considering a return. Jump in title of course, and considerable jump in comp (~30%).

I recognize I would effectively be blowing up a bridge, but any other considerations to factor? Appreciate any folks who can share their $0.02

DO IT but definitely know that bridge is burned and won’t be able to come back. Ideally it’s not a prominent name in the industry or else might affect other opps in that industry as well. For reference, I am leaving at the 4 month mark and going back to previous employer

Why did you leave? Have any of those things changed?

I feel like short stints are much more explainable these days…due to terrible job market, tech layoffs, etc. if you have multiple consecutive short stints of just a few months , I do think that looks bad. As the other commenter said above, what has changed since you left the big 4 firm?

like

I see many more short stints these days, I don’t think it’s a big deal. Just make sure you’re going back to a better situation and not just promises. Good luck.

What’s not working? 3 months is too short. Doesn’t mean you can’t leave but you never know where people will land and it will impact your reputation. They made an investment in you when they brought you onboard and you haven’t given yourself enough time to be a full contributor yet. Are you sure you’ve given this a fair shot?

Your question is pretty long, so.. probably 5’3”

No one will remember you left. You are inconsequential. If there is demand in the future and you are available Accenture will take you.

Just don’t piss anyone off when you leave with unprofessional behavior, don’t get a bad performance review or feedback.

I mean, that’s just not true. The hiring manager will certainly remember.

Trust your gut. 99% of the time it is right.

I left Booz Allen after 8 months. Absolutely hated it. I nuked that bridge and haven't been happier. When I mention that I left them after only 8 months, just about everyone who knows Booz gets it.

People with dogs: how did you get your dog used to city life? My dog is almost a year and half now (having lived the past ~5 months in the city) and he is terrified of the city. We used to live in the suburbs so much more quiet and low key. The cars going by, sudden sounds, bikes/scooters are a huge stressor, but more than anything it’s people - if he sees anyone walking or around him he panics and tries to flee. I can’t afford to send him to an expensive dog trainer and don’t know what to do :/

ADHD medication with high Blood Pressure?

I found ADHD meds helpful when I worked in consulting in my 20s. I stopped the meds when I went back to school. Also have had High BP since late 20s. 15 years away, I am back in consulting and loving it, however my difficulties juggling so many projects/tasks is holding me back. I know I would benifit from some ADHD medication but my Dr won’t prescribe any with my history of BP (controlled with BP meds). Anyone else gone through this? Any tips?

I wonder what makes this app diff frm others?

Does anyone here browse YouTube videos for tips on running your practice? New legal software to try? Nuances in argumentation, deposition or trial skills, etc? IF so, how do you search for content? So i have been fortunate that i have managed to go through my career without the need for a degree. I was lucky enough to have been hired by one of the worlds top consulting firms, worked with a whole lot of big clients and travelled a lot. It's gotten to the point where I am not even asked about the lack of a degree on my resume. Personally though, it bothers me. I have a whole bunch of certifications in my industry…but just no formal degree. (cont'd)
